Axford-Coffin House At cranberry lake

Adaptive Reuse, Oakland TWP MI - homestead is on the National Register of Historic Places. This was a home adaptive reuse conversion done for Public Use as office space and Museum.  As part of the conversion, floor loading requirements drove substantial upgrades to the structural elements, door passages widened, electric, plumbing, & HVAC improvements.  Virtually every room has unique custom paneling and trim on walls and ceilings that had to be reproduced in limited quantities.  The original kitchen was reconstructed to integrate modern appliances in a manner completely concealed.  All the new materials required artistic expertise to match adjacent/vintage surface finishes.  Vintage light and plumbing fixtures were completely refurbished.  Doors, porches, and approaches were altered to accommodate code compliant ADA access.

Malcolm/Pumpkin Hill Home

Plymouth MI - This 1834 home, affectionately known as, Pumpkin Hill, had been condemned by the City and was scheduled for demolition.  The home was purchased by a private party for the sake of preservation. Though preservation was desired, the home was in need of significant modernization and additional square footage. Maintaining the homes vintage, historic charm was key to this project, leading to vintage fixtures being used wherever practical. Doors, hardware, baseboards, casings, and floorings were focal points of this project. In the original portion of the home, true divided light windows with vintage/wavey glass were used. This home is a true testament of passion, invested to preserve a key historic home and showcase vintage elements throughout the greater structure. Hats off to these owners!
